A Grievance

When citizens are impelled to demand the impeachment of the Administrative branch of their government; they should expect to name the crimes which the Administration has committed.

Our government was created to protect our inalienable rights and to govern us by consent; and if the government becomes destructive to those ends, The People have the right to abolish it and form a new government. The current Administration has no concern for the safety and happiness of The People. We have suffered complacently at the hands of tyrants who pretend to fight evil while lining their pockets with gold. We do not make our complaints lightly, but after a long series of abuses and moves towards despotism we cannot remain silent. What remains is to name but a few of the facts of our case.

• The President has used signing statements to make more than 500 constitutional challenges and has defied over 800 federal laws.
• The President has opposed judge and jury by commuting the felony sentence of a duly convicted member of his administration.
• The President and Vice President have refused to comply with subpoenas issued by Congress.
• The President and Vice President have interfered with the tenure of judicial officials.
• The President and Vice President have caused investigations of their political allies to be abandoned.
• Their Administration is responsible for revealing the identity of a secret government agent thereby risking our national security.
• The President and Vice President have expanded the bureaucracy with new departments and czars and have sent their agents into our homes without warrant.
• The President and Vice President have used the threat of martial law to maintain their independence and superiority to the other branches of government and the civil power.
• The President and Vice President have revoked our right of habeas corpus.
• The President and Vice President maintain foreign prisons where we are tried for made-up offences under pretend laws.
• The President and Vice President have invaded a sovereign nation based on false intelligence.
• The President and Vice President have used their position to funnel war profits to their business associates by awarding contracts outside the bidding process.

At every corrupt milestone we have petitioned for redress only to reach greater corruption.

We have spoken to Congress in the clearest and strongest terms and have been met with deaf ears and weak hands. We expect our Congress to respond to the civil power.

Therefore, we The People demand that Congress impeach the President and Vice President and remove them from office for violating the laws and trust of The People of the United States of America.

Founding Fanatics

You hear a lot these days about returning to the ideals of our founding fathers. What most people refuse to think about is that these founders were for the most part religious zealots who instead of escaping persecution at home merely exported it to the new world. The Maryland Act concerning Religion (1649) regulated death, imprisonment, confiscation of property and public whipping for dissing the lord or any of his agents. Freedom of religion was protected for believers of Jesus Christ except:

…heritick, Scismatick, Idolator, puritan, Independant, Prespiterian popish
prest, Jesuite, Jesuited papist, Lutheran, Calvenist, Anabaptist, Brownist,
Antinomian, Barrowist, Roundhead, or Sepatist…

This was just Maryland; settled by Roman Catholics.
New England was settled by Puritans; Virginia by Anglicans. Roger Williams founded Rhode Island on religious freedom, as did William Penn’s “Society of Friends” in Pennsylvania. Lutherans and Jews were encouraged to settle in these areas. These various groups were not at all friendly with each other as the Maryland example shows.
